[It takes a while for Steven to decide to leave this message, mostly because the very act of doing so is going to give away who he works for. On the other hand, Catra's part of Winter and Thace's little ecoterrorism group anyway and while he's never straight out told them he's a Rocket, it's not like he's been trying to hide how familiar he is with breaking into places since they've started planning for the Pokemon Liberation League's raid on Silph Co.
And, you know, Catra's ex-Evil Organization herself, if she was part of Scorpia's Horde. So maybe she'll understand.]
Look, you don't have to worry about Scorpia. I'm watching out for her.

[There's a lot of things she could say to this, starting with she doesn't know him nearly well enough to take that as comforting, but she's at least trying not to alienate allies.
Also, Scorpia's a big girl, she survived the Horde just fine - there are other issues here.]
Do you have anyone who can erase our public conversation? I really doubt any of the so-called heroes are smart enough to monitor discussions for minor inconsistencies, but why take the chance?
Possibly. I've got a guy who's altered search records for me to make it look like someone else with my clearance got that building layout--but I haven't asked if he can do anything with the pokegear messages. But I can contact him now.
And there are ways of putting people off the scent even if he can't do anything. I got my last promotion for a job I was ostensibly one of the victims of.
She is. She told me about singing 'I'm a spy' during an infiltration in your world.
[Fond, if exasperated sigh.]
On the other hand, I have the ear of certain people in the hero crowd that assume I'm merely employed by one of the companies we own--I was very shocked, you see, when I was told who was really in control of the Radio Tower. They assume I'm attempting to use my position as a mere employee to learn more about us--and it's easy enough to say that I have a contact on the inside now.
I can do it tonight and any of them who are observant enough to suspect her will also deduce she's my contact.
It is. [He chuckles.] I need to ask her more about how it happened at some point.
And yes, that is exactly the kind of thing they'd buy--and I suspect her sweet nature will work for us in this case. After observing what a nice person she is, they'll likely be relieved that she's my informant, so they don't have to worry about feeling bad because they put someone so sweet and friendly in jail.
Hi, Catra, do you know how to dye hair? I might want to dye my bangs but I've never done it before and Jinx says I should probably have someone help me.

[He's quiet for a moment. Then,]
I'm glad she's got friends here.

Date: 2020-11-08 09:40 pm (UTC)She'd be fine even without me and Entrapta here. Scorpia's a survivor. And she's good at making friends.
[Just not at choosing them, Catra herself being the most striking example for, oh, most of the time they'd known one another.]

If only because she doesn't know how it ends.]
That does sound like the kind of thing they'd buy. [Are all heroes that credulous? There seems to be a trend.]
